US envoys meet Putin in Moscow before talks with Zelensky in Kyiv
US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on September 5 after a 3.5-hour working lunch with Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The meeting produced no publicly announced breakthrough, but the Kremlin described a temporary halt to strikes on Kyiv while Ukraine said it was prepared to reciprocate regarding Moscow.
