Umatex Group
Umatex Group is a Russian company specializing in composite materials, particularly carbon fibre. It operates as a subsidiary of the state corporation Rosatom. Its facility, the Alabuga-Fibre plant in Tatarstan, is Russia's only producer of carbon fibre used in the manufacture of strike drones.

Russia is expanding the Alabuga-Volokno carbon fiber plant in Tatarstan, according to internal Rosatom documents obtained by the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation. The expansion could enable production of roughly 28,000 additional jet strike drones per year by 2029, on top of Russia's current output of more than 36,000 Shahed/Geran-type drones annually. Both the plant and its parent Rosatom unit UMATEX are under US, UK and other Western sanctions.
