Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized UN agency founded in 1945 in Quebec City. Its headquarters are in Rome. The organization works to defeat hunger, sets international standards in food and agriculture, and assists countries in developing their farming sectors. Each month it publishes the Food Price Index, tracking global prices of key food commodities.
