Kyiv International Institute of Sociology
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) is a Ukrainian non-profit research and polling organization founded in 1992. It conducts sociological surveys as well as academic and applied research in sociology, political science, social psychology and related fields. KIIS is one of Ukraine's most prominent public-opinion research centers, and its regular nationwide polls are widely cited in Ukrainian and international media. The institute was founded and is led by sociologist Volodymyr Paniotto.

KIIS poll: Zelensky trust jumped mid-survey after US pressure, monthly level unchanged
A Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) telephone poll conducted October 8–16, 2026 found that 54% of Ukrainian citizens trust President Volodymyr Zelensky and 41% do not. KIIS said these monthly figures were identical to those from late August to early September, but that trust rose sharply during the survey window: 43% among respondents polled October 8–9 versus 57% among those polled October 10–16. KIIS Executive Director Anton Hrushetsky attributed the shift to a "rally-around-the-flag" effect triggered by US pressure on Ukraine.

Trump tells Ukraine to elect a new president, a day after announcing US-Russia diesel deal
On October 10, US President Donald Trump said Ukraine needs a new president who can make a deal to end the war with Russia, accusing Volodymyr Zelensky of choosing not to end the conflict despite repeated opportunities. The remarks came a day after Trump announced a deal struck during a phone call with Vladimir Putin under which Russia will supply large volumes of diesel fuel to US and world markets, with the US issuing a Treasury license suspending the relevant sanctions until April 7, 2027. Zelensky condemned the diesel deal as weakness and a "gift to Putin for his birthday," and said the Ukrainian negotiating team meeting in Miami had been used as a "screen." Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said Zelensky has the support of the Ukrainian people and that only Ukrainians can decide who leads them.
