Congress
The Congress is the legislative branch of the United States federal government, consisting of two chambers: the Senate (upper) and the House of Representatives (lower). It passes federal laws, approves the federal budget, ratifies international treaties, and holds the power of impeachment. Congress also has the authority to impose sanctions on foreign states, companies, and individuals.
