Chinese state company shipped carbon-fiber chemicals to sanctioned Rosatom subsidiary for Russian drone production, documents show
Internal Russian documents obtained by the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation show that Chinese state-owned Jilin Chemical Fiber Group shipped around 46 tons of carbon-fiber precursor chemicals to Alabuga-Volokno, a subsidiary of Rosatom, in early 2026. The cargo was mislabeled in customs documents under codes for civilian synthetic fibers, and the recipient is already under Western sanctions. The materials are used in producing Geran/Shahed-type kamikaze drones that Russia has used against Ukraine.
