Ukraine's Air Force has appointed Colonel Oleksandr Dmukhovskyi as commander of the "small" air defense forces, a command focused on countering drones. Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat announced the appointment on 5 September, with the overall direction of the "small" air defense being overseen by Air Force deputy commander Yuriy Cherevashenko. The appointment comes as Russia sharply escalates its use of jet-powered strike drones against Ukraine and follows earlier leadership changes tied to the resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
