Finland's and Norway's leaders call Putin on Ukraine, then brief Zelensky
Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre held an approximately 90-minute phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on 27 October about Russia's war against Ukraine and possible negotiations. The call, coordinated with Ukraine and held from Helsinki, was followed by a roughly 30-minute conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two leaders said they pressed Putin for real de-escalatory steps on Ukraine's energy and infrastructure and for the war to end through resumed talks.
