Russian glide bombs hit Zaporizhzhia residential building, killing at least 17
On the morning of 10 October, Russian forces struck the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs (KABs), destroying parts of a residential building and killing at least 17 people, including children. Dozens more were injured, and search-and-rescue operations continued into the next day. President Zelensky linked the strike to the previous day's U.S. announcement of a deal to buy Russian diesel; 11 October was declared a day of mourning in Zaporizhzhia.
