Volodymyr Zelensky
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a Ukrainian politician, comedian and actor who was elected President of Ukraine in 2019. Before entering politics, he was best known for starring in the satirical television series "Servant of the People," in which he played a schoolteacher who unexpectedly becomes president. His presidency, which began with domestic reform efforts, was transformed by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, after which he emerged as the principal international face of Ukrainian resistance and leadership. He leads the political party Servant of the People, named after the show that brought him to fame.

Russia strikes Kyiv and Dnipro with ballistic missiles in overnight attack
Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv and Dnipro during the night of October 7, with explosions reported in both cities.
