Trump claims Ukraine and Russia agreed to halt energy strikes; Kyiv and Moscow have not confirmed any deal
On September 14, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to mutually refrain from striking each other's energy facilities. Neither Kyiv nor Moscow has confirmed any such agreement. President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is conditionally ready to halt such strikes if partners guarantee Russia will also stop, while the Financial Times reported that Vladimir Putin does not want to conclude a deal before winter. Trump also used the post to argue that the Russia–Ukraine war, not Iran, is the main cause of rising global diesel prices.
