Austrian authorities release Ukrainian journalists after identifying errors in Vienna case
Austrian authorities arrested Ukrainian journalists Mykhailo Tkach and Yaroslav Bondarenko in Vienna on October 8, accusing them of espionage for Ukraine’s military intelligence, participation in a criminal group, and harming Austria. They were investigating the whereabouts of former prosecutor general Ruslan Kravchenko and released after their professional status was confirmed. Austrian authorities acknowledged on October 13 that they had misidentified Tkach and found no connection between Bondarenko and military intelligence personnel.
