Vladimir Lenin
Vladimir Lenin (born Vladimir Ulyanov, 1870–1924) was a Russian revolutionary and political theorist who founded the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party and led the October Revolution of 1917. After the revolution he headed the Council of People's Commissars of Soviet Russia and led the Soviet state until his death. His theories, known as Leninism, formed the ideological basis of the Soviet Union and of communist parties worldwide.
