Василь Малюк
Vasyl Malyuk is a Ukrainian jurist and security official who heads the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Before being appointed to lead the agency in 2022, he served in the SBU, including in counterintelligence and organized-crime directorates, and served as acting head of the agency following the 2022 dismissal of his predecessor.

Lviv court sentences Zinchenko to life for 2024 murder of linguist Iryna Farion
A court in Lviv sentenced Viacheslav Zinchenko to life imprisonment on 1 October for the premeditated, hate-motivated murder of linguist and former Ukrainian MP Iryna Farion, who was shot dead outside her home in July 2024. The verdict is not yet final and can be appealed within 30 days.
