SpaceX imposes surprise speed limit on Starlink military terminals in Ukraine, disrupting drone operations
In the night of October 14, SpaceX unilaterally restricted the operation of Starshield, the military package of Starlink, used by Ukraine's Defense Forces. The unannounced speed cap — initially reported at about 160 km/h and later tightened — caused the loss of drone and other military missions, including on the Huliaipole direction of the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces. President Zelensky called the move a "big mistake" that would cost lives, Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski publicly accused Elon Musk of politicising his products, and Ukraine's Defense Ministry is in contact with the United States, SpaceX, and NATO partners to resolve the issue.
