Emergency blackouts in Kyiv and four regions as Russia intensifies strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure
Emergency electricity restrictions were imposed in Kyiv and the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Cherkasy oblasts on 5 November after major Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. In Kyiv, power cuts disrupted water services across all districts, while emergency blackouts in parts of the capital were ordered by Ukrenergo. Ukraine's nuclear power plants also had to reduce generation because of damage from attacks.
