US envoys Witkoff and Kushner arrive in Kyiv by train for talks with Zelensky, after meeting Putin
US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv by train on September 6 to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky, a day after holding more than three hours of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. It was their first trip to Ukraine since taking on a leading role in US efforts to end Russia's war. The visit took place against the backdrop of a large overnight Russian drone barrage on Ukraine and competing unilateral ceasefire initiatives.
