Ukraine's Prosecutor General signs suspicion against NABU director, then flees abroad as Zelensky demands his dismissal
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who had submitted his resignation a week earlier, announced on the morning of 14 September via video address that he had signed a notice of suspicion against NABU director Semen Kryvonos and a second suspicion against a person close to SAPO head Oleksandr Klymenko. Within an hour, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kravchenko's "only path" is dismissal and asked MPs to back the move urgently. Head of the Servant of the People faction Davyd Arakhamia said the Verkhovna Rada will vote on the dismissal on 15 September. Kravchenko, who left Ukraine overnight on a service vehicle citing a foreign business trip, framed his actions as a counter-move against NABU and SAPO's 'Carthage' operation; the anti-corruption bodies deny his claims and say no suspicion has been formally served on Kryvonos.
