Roberto Vannacci is an Italian general and politician, known for his book "The World Upside Down," which provoked controversy with blunt remarks on race, LGBT people and the war in Ukraine. After the book's publication he left the army for politics and became a leading figure of the right-wing League party in the European Parliament, to which he was elected in 2024.
