Russian glide bombs hit Zaporizhzhia apartment block, killing at least 17 including children
On the morning of 10 October, Russian forces struck residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs, partially destroying a five-storey apartment block and causing multiple casualties that included children. Casualty figures rose throughout the day as rescue operations continued, and Ukrainian authorities declared 11 October a day of mourning. President Zelensky framed the attack as Russia's "thank-you" for the announced U.S.–Russia deal on Russian diesel, announced by President Trump the previous day.
