Russian jet-powered drones reach Lviv and Lutsk, hitting museum in Lutsk
Russia has launched several dozen Geran-4 reactive 'Shahed' drones from occupied Crimea toward western Ukraine in recent days, with four reaching Lviv roughly 820 kilometers from the launch point and several more continuing to Lutsk about 880 kilometers away. Ukrainian air defense downed two drones over Lviv Oblast on the morning of October 13, debris damaged houses in the villages of Murovane and Malekhiv, and falling wreckage ignited the roof of the Adrenalin City entertainment center in Lutsk, partially damaging part of the Korsakiv Museum of Contemporary Art's multi-year 'Cosmohonia' project. Presidential adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov said the drones' maximum range proved greater than expected and suggested Russia may have traded warhead weight for additional fuel.
