Pavlo Skoropadsky
Pavlo Skoropadsky (1873–1945) was a Ukrainian military and political figure, Hetman of the Ukrainian State from April to December 1918. From a longstanding Cossack officer family, he commanded a corps in the Russian Imperial Army during the First World War. After coming to power he attempted to build an authoritarian state closely aligned with the German and Austro-Hungarian occupiers. He was overthrown by the Directory of the Ukrainian People's Republic in December 1918 and spent the remainder of his life in emigration, mainly in Germany and Britain.

Russian drone strikes National Academy of Sciences building in central Kyiv, killing at least one
On 28 September, a Russian jet-powered drone struck the Presidium building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on Volodymyrska Street in central Kyiv during the working day, causing a large fire and significant damage. At least one woman was killed and multiple people were injured, including former National Security and Defense Council Secretary Volodymyr Horbulin, who sustained minor injuries. The attack drew sharp international condemnation and prompted Ukraine's foreign minister to call for stripping Russia of its UNESCO voting rights.
