Oleksandr Borodai
Oleksandr Borodai is a Russian politician and businessman who served as one of the leaders of the self-proclaimed 'Donetsk People's Republic' in 2014. He subsequently became a member of the Russian State Duma for the United Russia party. He is known for his role in the early stages of the Donbas conflict and his pro-Kremlin stance on the war in Ukraine.

Zelensky sanctions 44 individuals over Russian Duma 'elections' on occupied territories
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed sanctions on 26 September against 44 individuals involved in organizing and conducting Russia's State Duma voting on Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories. The list, submitted by the National Security and Defense Council, includes Russian propagandist Iryna Kuksenkova and former Ukrainian deputy Yuriy Onyshchuk. Ukraine declares the results illegitimate and plans to share the list with international partners.
