Zelenskyy says partners gave no advance warning of Russian ballistic strike on Kyiv
On the evening of 12 October, Russia struck Kyiv with five ballistic missiles that hit civilian infrastructure, and Ukraine's air-raid alert sounded only after the explosions. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on 13 October that partners had not warned Ukraine in advance of the attack. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha and Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said intelligence sharing with the United States continues and that the delayed alert was due to the type of weapon used. The exchange comes against the backdrop of an "energy ceasefire" announced by US President Donald Trump on 11 October that Moscow has not confirmed, and competing reports over whether Washington has threatened to suspend intelligence sharing over Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
