Drone crashes in Moldova during Russian attack on Ukraine; second drone prompts airspace closure
A drone entered Moldovan airspace on the morning of 30 September 2026 and crashed near the village of Hyrbovets in the Anenii Noi district, exploding after striking a communications mast. A second drone was detected hours later over the Dubăsari district, prompting Moldovan authorities to temporarily close parts of the country's airspace. The incident coincided with a mass Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine overnight from 29 to 30 September.
