Russian strike hits Dnipro–Zaporizhzhia passenger train; one conductor missing
On 8 September, Russian forces struck the city of Dnipro and deliberately hit a regional passenger train running the Dnipro–Zaporizhzhia route. The train had been stopped in advance after a threat was detected, and passengers were evacuated to a mobile shelter with no injuries reported. One conductor remains missing, with indications she returned to the train during the evacuation despite declared heightened danger. The head of Ukrzaliznytsia described the strike as a terrible war crime.
