Ukraine and Russia Back Renewed U.S.-Brokered Talks and Local Ceasefire
Ukraine and Russia signaled willingness to resume U.S.-brokered peace negotiations and supported a humanitarian mission led by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. Kyiv and Moscow also agreed to a local ceasefire that would allow aid into the stranded town of Olekshi in Ukraine’s Kherson region. The diplomatic progress came hours before a deadly Russian missile and drone barrage on Kyiv.
