AfD held talks with Gazprom in Moscow on resuming Russian gas to Germany
Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party confirmed that its foreign policy spokesperson, Markus Frohnmaier, met Gazprom chairman Alexei Miller in Moscow to discuss the possible resumption of cheap Russian gas supplies. Following strong election showings in eastern German states, AfD leadership publicly called on Chancellor Friedrich Merz to travel to Moscow for direct negotiations, while co-chair Alice Weidel attributed the 2022 Nord Stream sabotage to Ukraine.
