Mikhail Fridman
Mikhail Fridman is a Russian-Israeli businessman born in Lviv who founded the Alfa-Group consortium, which controls Alfa-Bank and X5 Retail Group. He built his fortune in Moscow in the 1990s and was long ranked among Russia's wealthiest individuals. Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he has been placed under EU and UK sanctions; Slovakia temporarily blocked the renewal of his EU sanctions in 2022.
