Maia Sandu
Maia Sandu is a Moldovan politician and leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). She has served as President of Moldova since December 2020, after winning the second round of the presidential election that year. She is known for her pro-European stance and her push for Moldova's EU integration, including the granting of EU candidate status.

Russian drone strikes Kyiv–Warsaw passenger train near Polish border
On the morning of September 13, a Russian drone struck the locomotive of an international passenger train near the Yahodyn border crossing in Volyn Oblast, about two kilometers from the Polish border. A separate drone hit a truck and set a nearby gas station on fire. No passengers or crew were injured.
