Pope's envoy visits Ukrainian POWs in Russia for the first time since 2022
Russia has allowed Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Pope's special envoy, to visit Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Russia for the first time since the full-scale invasion began. The visit coincided with continued Ukrainian-Russian talks on repatriating captives and the return of 270 Ukrainian service members and civilians on October 23.
