Marine Le Pen
Marine Le Pen is a French politician and longtime leader of the far-right Rassemblement National (formerly the Front National), the party founded by her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen. She led it from 2011 until stepping aside in 2021, and has served as a member of the French National Assembly. She ran for the French presidency three times — in 2012, 2017 and 2022 — reaching the second round each time and losing to Emmanuel Macron. She is known for her staunchly nationalist, anti-immigration and EU-sceptical platform, and has long faced legal scrutiny over the party's finances and her ties to Russia.
