Maria Malmer Stenergard is a Swedish politician serving as Minister for Defence of Sweden. She is a member of the Moderate Party and was appointed to the cabinet of Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in 2022. Prior to entering government, she was a Member of the European Parliament.

Sweden to deploy Patriot air defense system to Poland to protect NATO hub supplying Ukraine
Sweden will deploy a Patriot air defense system to Rzeszów in southeastern Poland to protect a NATO logistics hub used to deliver military and civilian aid to Ukraine, marking Sweden's first Patriot deployment within a NATO mission. About 100 Swedish troops will join NATO's integrated air and missile defense and replace the current Dutch rotation.
