Manuela Schwesig
Manuela Schwesig is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). She served as Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Youth, Women and Seniors in Angela Merkel's cabinets from 2017 to 2021, and since 2021 she has been Minister-President of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. She is associated with reforms to parental leave and family benefits at the federal level and with state-level health and energy policy.
