Sweden to deploy Patriot air defense system to Polish hub protecting Ukraine aid route
Sweden will deploy a Patriot air defense system to Rzeszów, in southeastern Poland, to shield the NATO logistics hub at Jasionka airport through which Western military and civilian aid flows to Ukraine. Roughly 100 Swedish troops from the Air Defense Regiment will operate under NATO command, replacing the current Dutch rotation, with the mission set to begin in early December 2026 and continue into the first half of 2027.
