Seven U.S. senators urge Trump to reverse Russian diesel import decision
Seven U.S. senators from both parties released a joint statement on Sunday calling on President Donald Trump to reverse his decision to permit Russian diesel fuel imports. The senators argue the move directly contradicts a 2022 law banning Russian energy imports and was made without required legal justification or congressional consultation. The statement comes days after Trump announced an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Russian diesel supplies.
