Kyrylo Budanov
Kyrylo Budanov is a Ukrainian military intelligence officer who has served as head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine's Ministry of Defence since August 2020. Before that appointment he held command positions in intelligence units operating in the Donbas and took part in operations including in Crimea. He emerged as one of the public faces of Ukraine's security services during the full-scale Russian invasion, frequently commenting on the course of the war and threats from Russia. In his current role he oversees strategic intelligence and special operations conducted outside Ukraine's borders.
