Russia plans record 17.1 trillion ruble military budget for 2027
Russia's draft budget projects military spending of 17.1 trillion rubles (about $205 billion) for 2027, more than 40% above the figure planned for 2026 and nearly 380% above pre-invasion levels. Officials project only slight decreases in the following two years, abandoning earlier plans to slow spending growth despite a widening budget deficit.
