Janusz Onyszkiewicz
Janusz Onyszkiewicz is a Polish politician and mathematician who was active in the democratic opposition in communist Poland, notably within the Solidarity movement. He served as Poland's Minister of National Defence in the early 1990s under Prime Ministers Jan Olszewski and Hanna Suchocka. He later headed Poland's parliamentary delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and was a leading figure in the liberal-democratic party Freedom Union (Unia Wolności).
