Witkoff visits Oslo for Ukraine peace talks; Kushner joins remotely
US special envoy Steve Witkoff travelled to Oslo on 20 October for a new round of talks on ending the war in Ukraine, with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner participating by video link after falling ill. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and representatives of the UK, France, Germany, Poland, the EU and NATO were expected to take part. According to sources cited by Reuters, the parties planned to develop a peace proposal to present to Russia; Witkoff was then expected to travel to Moscow to meet Vladimir Putin.
