Elbridge Colby is an American national security official known for his influence on U.S. defense policy toward China and the Indo-Pacific. He served at the Pentagon during Donald Trump's first term as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Force Development. He is the founder of the Marathon Initiative, a think tank focused on great-power competition, and has been a prominent advocate of a tougher stance toward Beijing.

Germany to send Patriot interceptors from its own stocks before winter, calls on allies to follow
At the 36th Ramstein-format Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, held virtually on 8 September, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that Germany will urgently deliver PAC-2 Patriot interceptors from Bundeswehr stocks to Ukraine before the winter season. He also announced increased AIM-9 air-to-air missile deliveries and continued IRIS-T system shipments, and urged other Contact Group members to review and share their own stockpiles.
