U.S. House passes Russia and Iran sanctions bill, sending it to Trump for signature
The U.S. House of Representatives approved the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 by a vote of 262–159, advancing to President Donald Trump a package of sanctions on Russian officials, oligarchs, banks, energy firms and the shadow fleet, along with authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on the largest buyers of Russian energy. The bill also expands sanctions on Iran and was named after the late Senator Lindsey Graham, who died in July 2026.
