Zelensky announces resumption of strikes on Russian oil refineries, ending three-day US-requested pause
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in an interview with the Financial Times that Ukraine is resuming long-range strikes on Russian oil refineries, ending a three-day pause requested by the United States. Zelensky said Ukraine would halt strikes only in exchange for additional Patriot air defense interceptors and accused Washington of deliberately slowing Starlink military satellite communications and threatening to cut intelligence sharing during the pause. The announcement comes amid a broader rift with the Trump administration over a US-brokered deal allowing Russian diesel supplies to global markets.
