Carlos Gimenez
Carlos Gimenez is an American Republican politician who represents Florida's 28th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Before his election to Congress in 2020, he served as Mayor of Miami-Dade County for two terms. Gimenez has a military background, having served in the U.S. Air Force, the Army, and the National Guard, and is a former police officer. He sits on the House Armed Services, Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

A bipartisan group of 23 U.S. House members, led by Republican Joe Wilson, sent a letter to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk calling for Ukraine to be allowed to use Starlink to strike Russian launch sites. The letter comes after SpaceX restricted the speed of its Starshield military terminals in Ukraine in mid-October, which Ukrainian officials say has degraded drone operations and frontline logistics.
