Benoît Payan
Benoît Payan is a French politician who has served as Mayor of Marseille since November 2020. A member of the Socialist Party, he previously sat in the National Assembly representing the Bouches-du-Rhône department before entering municipal politics. He became the first openly gay mayor of Marseille and has been a prominent local voice on migration and security issues in the city.
