Russian glide bombs hit Zaporizhzhia residential building; at least 17 killed, day of mourning declared
On the morning of 10 October, Russian forces struck the city of Zaporizhzhia with five guided aerial bombs (KABs), hitting a five-storey residential building and damaging at least 26 other buildings. Ukrainian officials reported the death toll rose over the course of the day to at least 17, including three children, with dozens wounded. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy framed the strike as Russia's 'thank-you' for an announced US deal to buy Russian diesel. The following day, 11 October, was declared a day of mourning in Zaporizhzhia.
