Russian drone strike on Kharkiv Oblast park kills civilians including children
On 19 October, a Russian drone struck the central park in Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv Oblast, around 16:30, killing multiple civilians including young children and injuring more than a dozen others. Ukrainian authorities reported the toll in stages: Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi initially said three dead and 14 injured; prosecutors later raised the figures; President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said six were killed. A day of mourning was declared for 20 October, and Zelenskyy called on Western partners to maintain sanctions pressure and supply air defence.
