Ukrainian drone strike halts Yandex data center in Vladimir, third hit on Russian tech giant in four days
A Ukrainian drone attack struck Yandex's data center in Vladimir, Russia, overnight on October 11, forcing the company to halt operations and disrupting more than 80 Yandex Cloud services as well as consumer products including Alice, Yandex Music, Telemost, and Yandex Dom. The Vladimir strike was the third on Yandex facilities within roughly four days, following attacks on October 8 in Sasovo, Ryazan Oblast, and October 9 in Kaluga. Vladimir region governor Alexander Avdeev confirmed the drone strike on an infrastructure facility near Vladimir, with two substations knocked out leaving about 5,000 residents without electricity; no injuries were reported at the data center.
