Trump announces immediate Russia-Ukraine "energy ceasefire"; neither side confirms it
US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on 11 October that an "energy ceasefire" between Russia and Ukraine is taking effect immediately and that both sides agreed to it. Neither Ukraine nor Russia publicly confirmed the arrangement. President Volodymyr Zelensky told Axios the announcement was news to him, but said Ukraine supports the idea and is awaiting details from Washington. The post gives no duration, scope or verification mechanism, and came roughly an hour after Russian forces struck a Kyiv energy facility.
