Yellow Vests
The Yellow Vests (Mouvement des Gilets jaunes) are a French protest movement that emerged in 2018 in response to fuel-tax increases and changes in social policy. It brought together motorists, small-business owners, and other citizens who criticized government policies and called for lower taxes. The name comes from the yellow high-visibility safety vests worn by demonstrators.
